Extreme Deep Cleaning Somerset Hoarder Cluttering

There has been an upsurge recently in the amount of enquiries we are getting from landlords and property owners for help at the end of a tenancy. In some cases the tenant will have little disregard for the property as a whole, often deliberately leaving clutter and mess throughout the home. Of course, this is upsetting for property owners to see their rented accommodation treated with little respect – and this is where we come in.

We have a specifically trained extreme clean team who are well versed in all aspects of hoarder situations – whatever the reason for the build up of rubbish, mess and leftiver food, we are here to help.

Should you feel you are in a smiliar situation you can be reassured all of our cases are treated with dignity and discretion. Please do get in touch with Andy to discuss your options today.

Carpet Cleaning Hacks At Home

Top Carpet Cleaning DIY Home Hacks

As much as we’d all like our carpets to be in tip top condition 24/7, life can happen, bringing with it little spills and stains along the way. That’s why we’ve put together a list of top carpet cleaning hacks that will come in handy if you don’t have a carpet cleaner immediately to hand.

Don’t rub stains

When you rub a stain, it causes particles to separate and become ground into carpet fibres, which will then lead to premature breakdown of those fibres. This is obviously bad news for your carpet. However, if you blot your stains rather than rub them, you will be able to put a small amount of pressure on the stain which will help to soak it up. The best way to blot a stain is to work from the outside of the stain inward. If you blot the stain the other way, you could cause the stain to spread further.

Freeze trodden in gum

We’ve all been in the situation where we’ve unknowingly trodden in chewing gum and walked it into our home. Annoying for us, and bad news for our carpets! So how can you get rid of any gum without ruining your carpet? Ice cubes. Freeze the gum with ice cubes for about 30 seconds, and once the gum is frozen solid use a spoon to lift the gum upwards, whilst carefully trimming it away from the carpet (cutting as close to the gum as possible.)

Candle wax

Whether it’s from an over-exaggerated blowing out of the candles on a birthday cake, to everyday candles burning away, it can be quite easy for wax to find its way into your carpet and stay there. However, with this handy hack, any melted in wax will be gone in no time. First you’ll need to grab your iron and a white cloth. Place your white cloth over the melted wax and put your iron on top. This will warm up the wax, making it easy for you scrape the wax up with a butter knife.
Combat crushed sweets and candy
Whilst we enjoy our sugary treats from time to time, our carpets aren’t too keen. The best way to remove trodden in sweets and food is to try and scrape it out with a brush or butter knife, and then use and sponge and water to get the sugar out of the carpet. If you don’t remove all of the sugar then your carpet will attract dirt and debris more easily.

Pet Hair

We love our pets, but their hair can cause our carpets problems. Simply vacuuming is not enough, but that’s ok. All you need to do is don a pair of rubber gloves and rub the carpet until your bring the hair up in clumps. If you don’t have any rubber gloves you could use something like a squeegee.

Red Wine Spill On Carpet

Using Salt To Help With Wine Stains on Carpet

We found this great article on WikiHow to help remove red wine stains spilled on carpets.

Red Wine Spill Carpet Cleaning Tips Carpets Cleaned Weston super Mare SomersetSalt – the 3 step solution to cleaning carpet spills

Pour salt over the stain while it’s still wet.

A good dabbing job will take most of the wine out of the carpet, but usually not all of it. To help get the rest out, try covering the stained spot with a generous portion of salt. The salt granules will gradually draw the moisture in the stain out of the carpet over the next few hours.

Since the salt works by absorbing the stain’s moisture, this is much less effective for dried stains. If your stain is getting dry, pour a little water on it first before adding the salt.

Let the salt sit.

As it absorbs the wine, the salt will gradually turn pinkish. You’re ready to proceed when the stain seems almost completely dry. However, longer treatments aren’t going to make things worse, so if you have time to spare, feel free to let the salt sit overnight.

Discard the excess salt and vacuum up the carpet.

Scoop away the loose salt with a spoon and throw it out. Use a vacuum to suck up the fine particles that remain and get your carpet looking brand-new again. The stain should be gone or at least greatly diminished.

If a salty residue remains after the first vacuuming, just dampen the area with a little cool water and vacuum again to restore its natural texture. Read the original article here.
